Inspiring filmmakers is a huge part of who I am and what I do. If you have a story to tell then I believe you can tell it. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Skills can be learned and know-how can be gained. You just have to believe in yourself enough to know despite the naysayers, you can make your movie.

 

Although I enjoy helping all filmmakers, I have a special place in my heart for Women of Color who are pursuing careers in the film industry. As a woman of color myself, I know firsthand what it is like to be pigeonholed into a box that you are expected to fit, told audiences won’t relate to your movie because it’s too urban. I want to help filmmakers break that barrier. Any opportunity I have to speak to up-and-coming filmmakers and share what I have learned through my failures and successes I cherish.
